Leucadia

Keep Leucadia Funky. Leucadia is Encinitas’ funky little brother. While it tries hard to cling to its small funky-town vibe, there is no doubt that Leucadia is in the midst of a transformation – just at a slower pace. You can still find cozy little beach homes on friendly residential streets. A drive through Neptune Avenue is a showcase of beach mansions lined on a one-way street with epic views of the Pacific Ocean and a casual lifestyle that is hard to resist. You will still see apartments and condominiums off Vulcan Avenue with residents living near the roar of the train that cuts through town. After all, to locals, the roar of the train is part of the appeal of living in a small, close-knit beach town. However, recent development is bringing an updated look to the sleepy, little beach community that is a part of Encinitas.

For being a sleepy beach community, Leucadia 92024 still has much to offer. Between La Costa Avenue and down to Encinitas Boulevard is where you will find the quaint Encinitas community of Leucadia. Beach lovers and Surfers alike flock to secluded, sandy beaches with names like Grandview, Stone Steps and Beacon’s Beach. As such, you fill find a variety of homes for sale set on a series of bluffs stretched along the North County coastline. Not all homes for sale are located on the bluffs. In fact, friendly neighborhoods fill the streets east of Vulcan Avenue. Let’s face it, San Diego, and Encinitas is a skate and beach culture Mecca. On any given day you can see kids of all ages, young and old, enjoying the skatepark, basketball court and volleyball court at Leucadia Oaks Skatepark – a nice, little, public neighborhood park.

You’ll find plenty of local eateries and quirky shops along the Highway 101 in Leucadia. Get a nicely brewed coffee or tea at the Pannikin Coffee and Tea Shop, which is located in a converted railroad station. Vigilucci’s offers fine Italian dining – ideal for date night. While there is no major grocery store in the community, there is Just Peachy, a neighborhood grocery store with farm fresh fruits and vegetables.
